I own and manage my own rental property. If a tenant’s dog attacked someone, would I be liable?
A tenant of mine has a dog, for which she has paid a pet deposit for. This is the first time that I have allowed dogs and am worried about who would be liable for a dog attack if one were to happen. It is my property, but her dog.
Is there a GA or federal law that states it as so?
Yes you and your Tenant are both…If something happens on your property , either a dog bite someone falls or whatever the liability falls on you..
For future use….You can purchase a $500,000 Umbrella Policy to cover you against Law Suits of any type for roughly $250.00 a year…good at your rentals or if your in the middle of rehabbing and someone gets hurt…Extra piece of mind
