How do I shave my dog using Wahl pro grooming kit?
I recently bought a Wahl pro grooming kit for my cocker spaniel and I have no idea how to use it. He is matted in very hairy areas such as the under arm and outer ear. How do I get the matts out? the instructional video said that I have to get the matt out before I shave him. Do I just cut it out with the scissor?
I’m not going for the cocker spaniel look. I want him cleanly shaved.
They meant for the mats to be brushed out. With those model kits it is difficult to get a good groom like at the shop since we use a different clippers & blades. The safest way is to shave the area however with the proper blade which is not included in your kit. Using scissors close to that area is only asking for the dog to get cut. Try cutting just the longer hair – not close – then brush it out. Dogs generally hate that area being brushed & clipped since it is sensitive & thin skin easily cut/injured. Go slowly & carefully.
