Never owning a dog who needs grooming and now the proud owner of a yorkie poo I need help on how to groom?
He is 9 mos old and is awfully matted, I have cut and trimmed but he has terrible gunk under his eyes but he is absolutely freaked by the scissors in this area. Would it be best to get the clippers out? I hate to send him to a groomer at this point. Feel it would be best to build trust first but there are some issues that cannot wait
I would highly recommend taking your puppy to a professional groomer who is good and patient with puppies. I wouldn’t try using a clipper yet…the sound of clippers will scare her and she won’t want to stay still…I would hate t think of what could happen if a clipper hit her eye…..Eventually, a clipper will be the best to use under they eyes because it clips the hair close and helps keep the eyes clean and prevents that eye gunk. A professional groomer who is experienced will work with your puppy. Sometimes, a dog can sense an experienced hand of a groomer who is good. Your puppy may behave better with someone who she doesn’t know and who she isn’t sure she can fool.
