Alternative to a cat for an indoor pet?
Are there any alternatives to indoor pets that are easy to housebreak and are good around children aside from cats and dogs? Looking for a critter less than 500$ and is a free roam pet…small-medium in size(less than 30 lbs).
Looking for something bigger than a ferret/rabbit. A small pig would be awesome(pigs are VERY intelligent critters).
I think you’ve already answered your own question! There aren’t really any other options that are bigger than a rabbit or ferret, yet aren’t a dog or cat. Chinchillas are about the same size as rabbits and rats, too.
Pig seems like the only option, although they get much larger than 30 pounds. Even so-called “dwarf” or “teacup” pigs get to about 90 pounds.
