How to stop pet ferret from chewing on shoes by the door?
My two-month old ferret cannot resist going to the shoes by the door and chewing them. I use a stern voice with him, push him away from the shoes, and put him in his cage for negative consequences. But no matter what, he cannot resist going back there! Please, someone with ferret experience please help! Thanks. Paul.

I have a way of stopping the sausage rat chewing your shoes. find a way to put a shoe rack up off the floor. maybe get one of those over the door hooks and hang the shoes off them.
Another way, which makes things a little easier and alleiviates the smell from shoes is to put a citrus air freshener in the shoes. Ferrets don’t like citrus so he will stay away from it and will even stop him urinating on your shoes, which you can guarantee he is doing. this will also make your shoes sniffable.
