Anyone used a FurBuster de-shedding pet brush before?
I have 5 cats – 4 domestic short hairs, one of which has dandruff and severe shedding problems, and one long haired with all the characteristics of a Maine Coon but no (pedigree) that also sheds a lot.
I saw the FurBuster at Walmart for $13 and I was wondering if it was a good solution or just a gimmick. Any success or failure stories?
Also, while I’m asking, any advice about what to do for my kitty with dandruff?
My kitty with the dandruff has it year-round and cannot be bathed. He is afraid of water like none other.
also, I don’t have any problems with matting with any of my cats, but I am tired of cleaning up so much fur everywhere and my slick brush just isn’t cutting it (and my lint roller can’t keep up).

I like the Furminator better, but any brush that reaches into the undercoat will work if used frequently enough.
There are lots of moisturizing pet shampoos and conditioners. If you bathe your cat, make sure to use a conditioner that contains oatmeal.
Sometimes it’s just dry, cold weather that will cause dandruff, I don’t worry too much about it.
I have a long-haired cat that gets matted up and refuses to be brushed, and we have him shaved once a year to start a fresh coat of healthy, untangled hair.
