Chihuahua crate training.?
Hello. I adopted a 9 week old Chihuahua on Saturday. I’ve decided to crate train him but he hates being in there. I know that it’s going to take a while for him to get used to it, but the poor thing screams bloody murder when I put him in there at bed time. I bring him to the litter before putting him in and give him his favorite toy and a shirt of mine that he likes sleeping with in the crate.
I’m just wondering if there’s anything extra I can do to make this process a little less painful for him and how long does it usually take for them to get settled and comfortable in their crate?
I know it takes time, but his cries makes me sad and make me feel like a bad mommy
