How can I make my hair into an afro for a 70s party?
Yes, I am black, but because of the texture of my hair, it is difficult. I have wavy hair. I want it too look like an authenic afro, so when I put on my platform boots, butterfly collar and mini skirt, it will go all together. I do not want to wear a wig. Any suggestions or products that I can use?
Wash your hair so that it’s wet. Then, without brushing it to get it all neat (just get the tangles out), flip your head upside down and blowdry while shaking your head around. When it’s not dripping wet, stop and put curlers in for about half an hour. Take them out and repeat. When that’s done and your hair is totally dry from all of that, get itty bitty pins and pin ends of your hair to your scalp. Get a comb and lightly brush it out while its pinned to make it look frizzed out. Take a step back and look in the mirror, because it’s now looking like an affro!
