What is a good price for grooming a small dog? I live in San Leandro, CA and have a 7-lb Maltipoo.?
She is almost 5 months and this will be her first grooming. We’ve been bathing her and clipping her nails ourselves, but she is in need of a trim, especially around the face and a good ear cleaning/plucking as she is scratching at her ears a lot.
I would love a recommendation or 2 as well. This is my first dog!

First I have to adress the person who said “don’t go to petco/Petsmart as they will not take the time and rush” I began my carreer 11yrs ago as a Petco manager, I still have clients from that time who have their second dogs. I left the world of independent dog grooming and went to Petsmart 2 years ago as they have benifits and vacation pay (independent groomers don’t get that)
I take my time, love the animals and groom every dog differently and would be taking my time and loving any dog regardless of first or 50th time. Many of the girls I have worked with do the same. Simply put, pick the groomer, not the place. See how the groomer works with the dogs and find someone you like. Ask people who have dogs where they go in your area.
Your dog will be between $32-$40 depending. I believe it is better to not worry so much about price and worry about who your dog is going to. A groomer will be very important to you for the next 13yrs of your life as they will be very important in the care of your dog. Look around, Take advice from friends and find a groomer who you get a good feeling from. They can be found anywhere.
